It has been just over a week since we arrived in Africa. In that short time we have witnessed how a loving God is changing this region of the world one person at a time. We saw an example of this transformation today when we visited Jambezi, a remote village in the bush of Zimbabwe. Eight months ago a school of 578 students we beyond despair. No doors, windows, text books or food. Today, because of Christians coming together in faithfulness to Christ that has changed. There were bare floors with children hungry, they could not stay awake to learn; today they are fed and have desks. A few short months ago there were no books or even chalk; today there are text books for everyone. Six months ago children came to school with torn and tattered clothes and today they have uniforms and shoes. These changes have given the surrounding villages a chance to gain an education and change the country. I spoke to the headmaster and he said that it is encouraging, but what gives hope to the surrounding villages is Gods word. We have provided Bibles that the schools use in each classroom to teach English, but more importantly, moral integrity and God’s mercy and love. We are so grateful that you have supported this outreach through prayer and financial assistance. At each village as we served a Thanksgiving feast, passed out seed, mosquito nets, and Bibles, we told them that there are people in America who love God and care about them. Please have a blessed Thanksgiving day knowing that you have touched the hearts and changed the lives of many Africans. --Dave and Austin Arnold [ Ashley ] [ Austin ] [ Christie ] [ Dave ] [ Erin ] [ Glen ] [ Lori ] [ Regina ] [ Sean ] [ Sarah ] [ Todd ] [ 'Taps' ] [ More Photos ] [ Home ]
