Thoughts from a Toad…

So far, this outreach has been an emotional challenge, a learning experience, and a love fest. Bearing witness to the reports of adoration I was receiving in the preceding months has not been easy. In addition, we learned that the son of a village head had recently passed away from Malaria. This may not have been such an impact had it not been revealed to us at the beginning of our first feeding program where we brought mosquito nets to the village. Would this young man have been with us celebrating had we come a month sooner?

Thus far, what stands out the most for me, is the reaction of the villagers to the relief supplies and the great courage of our team to love upon them. During our feeding programs I somewhat expected a sub-equal joyous reaction to the meal, seeds and mosquito nets. The meal was always well received, but the seed, which would produce CORN (woo-hoo!), sent their shouts of joy out of the park! It was truly awesome to share the experience with them.

The most significant part of the outreach has been the great depth of love this team has showered upon those we come to serve, the men and woman who have partnered with us here in Africa, and each other. I have seen the body of Christ and He is beautiful.
